It is easy to make a garden bench for you home. A bench is an excellent way to increase functionality in your outdoor space. You can make it from a variety of materials. It can be made out of wood, stone and cinderblocks. When selecting a material for a bench, you should first consider its type and size.

The legs are the next step after you've chosen the material. For the legs, use 2x4 lumber. Each piece should be cut at a 45-degree angle. Align the braces with the legs. To attach the braces drill pilot holes, and screw the lumber pieces together. Next, attach the backrest/slats to your supports. Two 1/2" screws are required to attach the backrest and slats to the supports.

Measure the back and front of the bench frame to determine the measurements. The length and width of your planks should be measured. Next, use the 2-x to mark the centre of the frame. Align the arms and legs according to your measurements. Once you've cut the legs and arms to the correct length, attach the arms. Attach the arms so that they are flush with the back legs. Also, the front should have at least 3/4 inch of overhang. After you've assembled the frame add a finishing coat or any decorative elements to your bench.

After the frame is complete, it's time to install the arms and legs. Measure from the back and the front of the bench to make the back support. Mark the center using a scrap piece of 2xwood. Attach the back leg and attach the arms and legs to it. Attach the arms to both the front and back legs. You can choose the right finish to prolong the shelf life of your bench.

You can finish the bench by adding decorative details after it is assembled. The length of the wooden slats should not exceed two metres. You can trim the slats to your desired length. The legs can also be attached to the sides of the slats. Finally, attach the armrests and seat. To create a more attractive bench, depending on how large your bench is, you may add slats at the top or bottom.

First, you must build the frame. Using a circular saw, cut the armrest supports at an angle of 75 degrees. Once you have attached the armrests, you can attach the bottom rails to the seat with the dowels. The slats should be attached to the concrete with two 1/2'' screws.
